Common Grounds in Transition

Dear Friends,

Common Grounds is on the move

Well, to put it specifically, our home of recent years on Huntley Place is under contract with a new owner.  We are very grateful to the Thies Family for their generosity in allowing us to occupy their front porch at 119 Huntley Place these last few years.

What this means – CG is in transition

Given the timing of the property sale, market logistics and a dose of reality, the Board of Directors has made the difficult, but practical decision to temporarily suspend the operations of our farm stand this 2015 summer season.

Temporary closing

This temporary closing of Common Grounds Farm Stand this summer will be a disappointment to the community, and frankly, to us, as well.  Please know however, that in doing so, our goal is to re-emerge with a plan for both greater sustainability and impact on eliminating chronic homelessness in Charlotte and across our country.

Going forward – we need you!

Over the next few months, we will continue to examine and evaluate the strengths and challenges of our current business model.  We would like to convene community gatherings to seek your advice, thoughts and dreams for our Common Grounds Community.  Drop us a note at and we’ll keep you directly informed on the meet up dates and times.

None of our success would have been possible without the unwavering support of each of you – our fabulously loyal customers, volunteers and vendors.

With much gratitude, grace and appreciation,
